Lining and Waxing Jackets (Barbour Jacket Maintainence)
Hi All - curious if anyone has taken a Canvas Jacket that was originally unlined and unwaxed, and has taken them to a seamstress etc. to have the jacket lined AND waxed. Curious what you paid approximately, I know you can wax your own jacket, but thought I could save some time since I would need to also line the jacket.
Additionally, curious if the owners of the traditional Barbour (Bedale, Ashby, Beufort, etc) jackets wax their own or send it to Barbour to re-wax every 1-2 years. Just checked out pricing and it seems quite expensive to ship from the US (i.e. $20 shipping + $50 re-waxing fee)....

What do you think of the gorge height of this sport coat? It seemed a bit low to me at first, but maybe it’s actually average, and only current trends favor a slightly higher gorge position.
Also, the angle of the line (don’t know what it’s called) between the lapel and the collar is a bit unusual (very vertical).
Do you think these details make the jacket look dated? I like the fabric and it seems like a good deal for a cashmere coat on the local 2nd hand market....

Backpack + Suede leather jacket = disaster?
Got a suede leather jacket as a gift. Usually go to work with my backpack and would like to use this jacket for the commute. Will that ruin the jacket as time goes on? If so, anything that can be done to avoid any issues?

hi all looking to buy my first "actual" suit
looking to see if anyone here has bought a spier and mackay red label suit before, just wondering what's up with their sizing? i don't have much knowledge on how suit fitting works but i typically wear 38 slim fit for other off the rack brand and my chest measures out to be 37 but does spier and mackay tailored fit not have anything that acutally fits people with size 38 (everything seems to be +3-4 inches) chest sizes or am i looking at this whole thing wrong?...
