I just realised I can add these here instead of a separate post π Here's a graphic and two banners I made :) they're inspired more by the older valorant before the basic agent cards got their unique colouring!!

Sun! Although she exhibits a lot of light-like ability traits considering the sun theming :)
She looks so cool!! I love the colours you went for. I think the red/blonde hair pop really nicely, especially since you kept the outfit colourβs simple with the greys. I noticed as well that your design is quite similar to the Valorant artstyle as well which is a nice touch! Makes her design feel more realistic. Also I LOVE the graphics/banners you made theyβre gorgeous. I feel like your colour choices and illustrations really help showcase your character in them. I donβt know if I have any other critique except Iβd like to see more of her!! π

hi, can you tell me how to replicate the valorant art style?
I think its basically old stuff with a modern style for example brimstone is a general in the army
make it unique, make the art scream their powers / tech
give it a color palette based on the color of your abilities
sun power = yellow
and finally do it your way with the art style of valorant

A LOT of visual studying:
- a lot of valorant artworks have a harsh white backlight so always keep it in mind when drawing, however keep it very simple and follow the curve of your artwork!
- all the shapes are very blocky, usually range from like these deformed squares (in the way that it's not perfectly a square, but otherwise still sharp) to something triangular though this can vary to emphasize shapes such as a V shape to highlight a clothing fold
- REFERENCE REFERENCE REFERENCE AGENTS!!! if there's a specific material you want to recreate a look of, look at how it's been done! I used vipers boots as a reference to do my boots texture - don't be shy to get tons of screenshots of just, agent eyes, hair, faces, arms legitimately anything build a collage of references if you need! i just dragged my references around what I was currently working on!
- think realism, then transfer into shapes, everything should be rendered how it would be in real life, although it's okay to throw around extra shapes with minimal tone variation to fill in the space and give a more valorant look!
- clothing! if you're planning to create an agent, it's good to vary but STICK within a sci-fi-casual-combat clothing look. every agent follows this, but then has an underlining theme to demonstrate something! I can't say i did the greatest job at this, but my agent was sort of biker themed, more modern than an older look however!
- make sure when you're doing you key art you've decided if your agent is a radiant or not! radiants usually have their powers on display to some degree in their splash artwork, while non-radiants usually hold their utility, or have it in their agents outfit.
- study colour palettes!!! valorant has a range of colour palettes used - I found the most common one they use is analogous (deadlock, reyna, neon) for their agents, however there has been usage of triadic (e.g. gekko)!
- posing in general is usually pretty straightforward, most agents usually stand in some sort of pose holding a weapon and displaying their specific agent quirk (unless you're clove who got a very unique pose)

IT ISS like i wanna know so bad, technically i also have a website w all the development from planning, research, practical and evaluation (which still needs to be done before deadline) so that gets graded all together with my practical (being my art and the model)
Probably more niche? I definitely want to focus on character as I found I enjoy it most over environment or modelling weapons honestly i want to do either splash/key art or 3D models just anything character basically :)

Yeah I could've definitely been a lot sharper with my texturing! This is my second character model ever, so I was struggling to recreate the style properly but I'll try it again someday when I get better :)

as someone who also did a similar course in college, I can say that much that your work that I'm seeing here is genuinely phenomenal!! I really strongly believe you will get high marks on this FMP :Vainheart: the character art, 3d model and all of the explanations really make it easy to believe that she could be implemented into the game fairly easily because of how well you have done it all and the fact the style of the drawings and model look like riot design team have done it themselves!! you really should be proud of yourself! best of luck with your fmp hand in :SaluteVain:

it is very sad, as a lot of people want to do it - just theres not enough material for it and all software such as blender, 3ds max, unreal engine 5 are all very scary to work with at first - and cheers :D

totally understandable!! but if u ever wanna get back start with simple tutorials !! try learn how modifiers like remesh, subdivision, multires, solidify work!
real π starting out with blender was horrible, but when you learn the easy routes around things it actually becomes fun π (in my case at least xD)

in my second year we got a teacher who has worked on 3d models for games (street fighter being one of them) and he taught me so many new things that made me actually enjoy using blender so much more than the first year, he's a great guy π

if you ever choose to get back into it, watch the donut tutorial because it covers all of the things you would use for any other blender projects you might have! it's a really good tutorial for starting out with the program (:
