Google Play Service with MicroG
So for whatever reason, installing Gapps on Waydroid breaks the program entirely and stops it from loading. Why that is happening, I have no idea. Can't find any answers online, people here seem to have no idea either, so I've given up.
I installed MicroG instead, and that seems to load fine. I installed Aurora Store via F-Droid, then whatever other apps I need through there.
This all seems to work fine, except some apps require "Google Play Service" to load. According to Aurora, I need to "install Google's proprietary library or a FOSS reimplementation such as MicroG."
But, again, I already have MicroG installed.
And yet, the app is not launching.
Is there something I'm missing here? Some setting or something else I have to install for MicroG (I think I picked Minimum) for this to work?
New to Linux in general, so I don't know if I'm missing something.

I’ve run into a similar issue. New to Bazzite, running it with Gnome GUI.
I was able to get it to successfully install waydroid if I select both gapps and microg, but I can’t seem to get the Google device ID to get certified and download apps from the google play store.
Both gapps and microg? Will have to try that
As for Apps, use F-droid (which I think is another install option) to grab Aurora Store. Its basically the play store, you can install apps that way.
I'll have to test it myself later, but I would think that should work?
I’ll try it out here once I get Bazzite reinstalled. I picked up a new nvme and am installing it on that.
Also when I go through the Waydroid installation process I will confirm on that second one. I may have misremembered what the second option I selected was during Android 11 setup. It was whatever was directly beneath Gapps and then it stopped throwing the error
Directly beneath Gapps is MicroG
Then that was indeed the one!
1. Which program are you installing?
2. Do NOT use multiple google play services instances at the same time. If you are using GAPPS android image don't install GPS or MicroG. If you are using VANILLA image, install one of official GPS or MicroG.
3. Removing GPS after using it will break waydroid, install it again.
I installed MicroG, libndk, and fdroidpriv.
From F-Droid, I installed Aurora Store, then any app that requires google play service (for me, CIFI)
I have not installed multiple google play services. No idea about image, whatever is default on Bazzite.
No idea what GPS is, that's not an option that pops-up on Bazzite's Waydroid config
GPS = google play services in tis context
Ah
