make sure itunes is updated by uninstalling then reinstalling

Yo I uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it and did the same with sideloadly and it still doesn’t pop up, I saw in the internet something has to be there next to the music button which would mean that my phone is connected to my computer. Is that true?
