iphone background backup

I have waiting a week for background backup to start working, it hasn't uploaded a single file. I open the app daily to let the OS know that the app is a priority. Nothing happens. I have 4000 to upload, keeping the app up front and screen on to get through them is going to take a long time

Have you enabled background app refresh?

The message said last sync was 10:04PM your local time so 20 mins ago There are two type of background job, one short and one long

There are 4702 total assets to upload, only 1382 have been uploaded. That count has not changed unless my screen is on

The short one usually has 30 seconds to run the long one usually has 5 minutes to run so it depends on the last files in your queue if it would be a longer video file, it might only sync those files when you plugged in the phone for initial upload, I suggest just open the app and run the foreground backup, it would be faster that way the background backup is meant for everyday incremental usage

Ah, understood. I thought it would work the same as my android phone which backed up the entire library overnight

yeah Android and iPhone background jobs are very different >.< iOS seems more strict than Android in this aspect other apps use localtion change to trigger the mechanism but we don't do that since it is not "conventional" Then you would have strange message popup says the app has been using your location 10 times over the last 2 days, people might think we are trying to track them

The difference is apparently vast. Android i didn't think anything about, it just backed everything up. My iphone I have to stay alert to keep tapping the screen. Lol. Thank God my wife has android so she doesn't dismiss the app as useless haha

That's the real sniff test of a service. If the wife doesn't complain, it stays
