I need asusctl and it's not on the arch repo
https://gitlab.com/asus-linux/asusctl
It will not work inside a container it needs systemd

use a non-ASUS laptop
or just don't use asusctl and not be able to configure loads of shit I guess
we're not planning on adding AUR support due to the potential to break things
same thing about custom repos
really you use
system for hypervisors and drivers, which this is, it's just if we enable AUR support people are going to install other shit and break thingsCould it be possible to just add a way to enable it and show a disclaimer that if u mess with it don’t expect support just so if people realllllly need one driver they can
yeah that was my idea
we could do allowlisting
?
do allowlisting for aur only with drivers
so minimize the chance of complaints
potentially
That might be the best way to go about the custom repos make it a HUGE DISCLAIMER HAHA
I would like to use asusctl as well, an allowlist with "If you break the universe with this, that's on you" sounds reasonable to me.
we were looking at archiving the chaotic-aur
it's prebuilt AUR packages in a pacman repo
makes things a lot easier
That sounds great to me as well
Ah that is nice!'
Chaotic-AUR - automated binary repo 👨🏻💻
Helping you, so you don't have to worry about building AUR packages each update!
Works on any arch based distro
Except Manjaro
I've never used it, but I'm happy to use my Asus laptop & blendOS install as a gunnia pig to test any prepared binaries.
@UserDevice https://git.blendos.co/asterisk/blendos-mutifier this is highly untested, but it should make /usr/ writeable so you can manually install asusctl via cloning and running
makepkguse at your own risk ideally on a test VM or something
@ム丂イ乇尺ノ丂ズ, you've gained the level

It’ll install gum to your host for you so it’ll work and look nice
I added a download badge thing under the repo title
I'm not going to be able to test it out until next week, my laptop is prepped for defcon and I don't have the time/energy to go back to blend and reinstall all the things.
I will be able to give you a full test after next week though, I'll just throw a different SSD in and if it works thats great, if it runs into issues thats fine as well, I will open a ticket with details (Not as an expectation you get asus-util working, but as information for you to make blendos-mutifier better).
