Ubuntu Container & DNS resolution issues
Trying to install some packages and I seem to be having DNS resolution issues. For example trying to install brave and when entering
sudo curl -fsSLo /usr/share/keyrings/brave-browser-archive-keyring.gpg https://brave-browser-apt-release.s3.brave.com/brave-browser-archive-keyring.gpg I get the error curl: (6) Could not resolve host: brave-browser-apt-release.s3.brave.com
However when attempting on an actual ubuntu install, it works.7 Replies
are you trying to do this on the base system? @dealend
No, I did
user shell Ubuntu first to use the shell for my Ubuntu container.curl command works find in my ubuntu-23.04 container
or use firefox
which is preinstalled
after you fix your issue
brave is a crypto browser that you only use when firefox doesn't work
The only crypto stuff in there is the wallet which can be disabled. It works better for me on android and on wayland on linux and I like to keep my desktop and cell synced.
or the partnerships
with shitty nfts
and the "web3 gaming" garbage
and Brave Rewards
yes, the BAT token you get from that is a valid crypto
but ok
personally firefox worked for me on wayland
hey @dealend use brave flatpak
