Thumbnails not showing after upload import
I have used the upload import "Read-Only Gallery" feature to add some files from a USB hard drive. the files are there, but there are no thumbnails. I can download the image/file, so the link to the attached USB must be okay. Any thoughts. I have run the Generate Thumbnail.

when you run thumbnail generation for all, what does is do? I suspect Immich cannot write to your mount location to generate thumbnail
Completes with no errors, If I upload a image it works fine. does Immich write the thumbnails to the attached USB drive?
It write thumbnail to the locatikn you specified in UPLOAD_LOCATION
Immich can write to that location thumbs is the directory under my data directory. It is only the files that I added as an upload imort using the Read-Only Gallery, that have no thumbnails.
Hmm strange, @hackerman any idea?
Did you look at the immich microservice logs? There will 100% be errors there after running the job.

but i can download the files to my hard drive
seems the USB ends up with a directory under the thumbs locations that looks like this xxxxxxxx-xxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx. I think I was trying to complicate it. You can close this.
