Custom SVG not pulling into app properly

Hi there! I asked this question on YouTube, and was directed here, so here's the follow up to my original question. When using custom SVGs they either seem to partially load in the app, or not load at all. I've attached the SVGs I'm attempting to use. Thanks for taking a peek at this!

@KPMT I cropped the artboard in illustrator and it's working fine for me!

note the proportions are a littl off because the app preview is 5:4 and the image on designer is 1:1 - this is expected! Also the new app version was approved yesterday. You can check you have the latest (v1.0.2) by clicking the info icon in top right.

Thank you, @Web Bae! So, it seems there's some issue with SVG files exported from Affinity Designer. My artboard is cropped closely to the SVG shape, yet it exports with the extra wide artboard ratio (as shown in your screenshot pre-crop in Illustrator), which means it doesn't render properly in the Clip Path app. When I load up the same 1:1 SVG into illustrator, it's got the wide artboard. I crop it, export as SVG and it loads as expected into the Clip Path app. I don't work with SVGs much, so perhaps I'm missing something really obvious in Affinity when exporting SVG files, but as of my own testing, the SVG files exported from Affinity do not play nicely with the Clip Path app. I've attached a few screenshots to share the differences between the two, in case that's helpful. (Granted, these are two different SVG shapes in these screenshots, but no matter what shape/SVG file I tested this on, Affinity-exported files did not work in the Clip Path app.) ETA: the app is the most recent version. Thanks again for jumping in so quickly (and on a weekend, no less) to lend a hand! Appreciate it immensely! 🙇‍♀️

Glad you got it working! Thanks for checking out the app 🙂 SVG can be a bit tricky - helps to have an idea of what’s going between path and view box and those things though it’s not straightforward I haven’t used affinity designer before SVG also super versatile though! I feel like I’m always learning new things with it.

For sure! I was stoked to see it available, so thank you for creating it! Yeah, I'm the first to admit I know essentially nothing about SVGs. Jpegs, on the other hand, are my bread and butter. 😆
