Currently there is no easy way to add modded pickaxes or ores. In near future, there will be a dedicated fabric and paper version allowing all kinds of customization (~1 week).
If you are kind of familiar with data packs, there is a way to add your pickaxe manually. If you want, i can help you there
well, i dont use them to much but id like to figure out how to add it. if youd like to help @Miraculixx
Before editing the pack, i would check if the mod that adds the pickaxe does it properly. You can check if there is a scoreboard objective for your pickaxe with
scoreboard objectives add custom_pick_1 minecraft.used:<mod-id>.<pickaxe-name>
you can find the mod id and internal pickaxe name by pressing F3 + H and hover over the itemgot it

ngl i typed it in the command bar with the mod id of the mod that includes the pickaxe along with the name, and that was all apparentky

Yeah haha, that was just a check if we can create an "event" for block breaking with that command. Now we need to do something when you break that block

ye but for some reason vein miner works fully with the pickaxe, JUST by adding that command
