Unable to deploy
Hey we're trying to install rivet for our game but when we try to deploy the game it gives us this error:
"core/variant/variant_utility.cpp:1092 - [Rivet] Invalid response from the command line tool: 43"
So we can't deploy our game, we've tried on several computers and several projects but each time we get this error

Hey! I've been meaning to check this out, I think it's come up for a few other people. Let me get on that 💯
Okay perfect, thanks!
Can you do me a favor and to into settings and turn on debug for Rivet?
Editor -> Editor Settings -> Rivet -> Debug
And try deploying again, then send a screenshot of what comes out
Feel free to DM to me if it contains any keys :ferristhumbsup:hmm, also, what OS are you on?
i'm on Windows 11
Sounds good
I just restarted Godot and it now displays this error on startup

Ah, this is a fun one because of how Godot handles yaml files
your Rivet config is Rivet.yaml right?
oh ya
yes
It's easier to just swap it over to json, one sec
⏱️ Crash Course - Rivet
This guide will walk you through creating and deploying a multiplayer game with
Godot 4.2.
Did you find a rivet.yaml example still out in the wild?
i saw it in the video
Oh lol, I should remake that video
The problem is that Godot auto-converts yaml to tabs on save (i think)
And the yaml spec doesn't allow tabs
now I've replaced it, indeed the launch error has disappeared ^^
When this runs, does a terminal pop up at all?
nop, nothing
Alright, just getting onto my windows box to try this out
Ok, I've just reproduced it locally, so I'll get to the bottom of this :ferrisBongo:
Perfect
@Noiros Just checking, but I'm guessing you don't have Docker installed right? I'm getting this error message, so if that's the case for you, then I'll make sure we show a proper error message, and installing Docker should resolve it for you

docker is installed, but not launched, I test by launching it ...
Sounds good 🙌🏻
I'm installing it on my end as well to give it a try
the error no longer appears, I guess it build
Cool! A terminal should pop up where you can see the build running, did that happen?
no it doesn't appear but VmmemWSL is started in the task manager and take 5Gb of ram 😅
ah
Alright, I'll see what happens on my end
the error has returned but now takes longer to appear
Ok interesting
If you run
C:/Users/noiro/.rivet/v1.3.1/bin/rivet sidekick --show-terminal deploy --namespace prod in a terminal from the project folder, it might give more information
that's what I did here
Oh is this running in the Godot project folder?
You might need to navigate to there
oh sorry
it's building
Deploy Succeeded
Awesome!!
Gonna have to try and see why it wasn't going from Godot, will get back to you on that
Perfect, thank you!
