Sending requests to Gadget from storefront

In my app i am setting up a custom web pixel to check for shipping information event.
It seems that these do not work with app proxy (maybe i am wrong about that).
What is the recommended way to send post requests to my app's gadget endpoint? Should I expose my gadget URL? Is there a way to setup a CSFR without the proxy?
