Image editing not available?
Hi, I've been messing around with setting up an Immich server. I'm sure that previously I saw the ability to rotate images in the interface, but after a few re-installations/whatever this seems to have gone. I've got loads of images in the library but I can't seem to edit/rotate any of them. Why would this be?

If this ticket can be closed you can use the /close command, and re-open it later if needed.Ah! I think I must be misremembering having seen the crop/rotate feature on the mobile app and not the web app.
I CAN see the feature on the mobile app... but it doesn't work. 😕 You can rotate the image, but then when you leave the editor the image hasn't been rotated.
Well it works, but it saves a copy
Is there no way to rotate the image by changing the orientation metadata?
Should this copy also be visible? I have tried it twice over some days and nothing showed up. I am currently on the latest version

hello there! it took me a minute to "catch on" to this too! (i wish we had the option of whether or not to over-write or make a copy. i honestly don't like the copies!) after rotating or cropping, your copy should show up at the top like you just took a new pic. to me, that's nuts. i would rather it keep the same metadata (date/time, location, etc). anyway, hope this helps! 🙂
Yes, I jut discovered that the "save to gallery" on Android after editing just saves it to your phone, then it gets uploaded as a new photo. Bit of a kludge and not very useful really.
