mods on dedicated with SMM?
How does one go about telling SMM that i have a server installed on the machine its running on? is this even a thing or is it all manual?

I assume it's another machine, not the one you are playing SF on?
You should be able to see it in the drop down at top left, but you may need to manually add the details with advanced mode
