Uploading large video file on mobile keeps restarting
Hello, i recently got immich installed on my Ubuntu server 24.04, its working great, i installed it on my Android phone and it has been uploading photos no problem, but when it comes to videos, especially ones with a large file size, it keeps on restarting the upload, i keep on checking how long till its complete in the notification, it says 0.3GB/2.4B, but i turn off the screen and 5 minutes later it says 0.2GB/2.4GB, I have immich set to unrestricted in the battery section, and also unoptimized. My phone is a Vivo V30 Pro, and im not running any reverse proxy or anything, just local, and i made sure the version of both the server and mobile app is v1.121.0
I am currently trying to upload it manually via the foreground task, its been working so far

its random, i cant really tell
but at least a few minutes
sometimes it gets stuck basically no progress at all for 30 mins
i just tried reuploading it, restarted the upload after about 3 mins
Did you check the logs inside the app itself?
ah, nope i forgot that existed

Probably need to set it to verbose or something before it's useful, I'm afraid my expertise doesn't reach this far though 😦
the app also sometimes randomly crashes
also there are no verbose on the log level, do i just set it to "Shout"?

Okay I've got new data, it restarts the backup because the app keeps crashing, and so far I've tested it 2 times, and both of them crashed after a out 3 minutes
Doesn't matter if the app is in background or not
But I am using background upload

Large videos will not work in the background.
The OS won’t allow the app to run for long enough
is this something that android does? or specific android skins?
Just let it run in the foreground
thats what im doing currently, but this is a bit of a hassle, especially when you need to use the phone at the same time and the upload is SLOW while the file size is up to 10GB
slow uploading is not an immich issue afaik, just a limitation of the server
