Reinstalled IOS app, now re-syncing 34k assets
Hi all,
Running unraid version of Immich. My wife has reinstalled Immich as it was playing up, and now it appears that it is attempting to upload her entire phone again. I can't see any duplicates in Immich, but the upload speed indicates that data is transferring. We're currently away at the moment, so uploading 34k assets on an LTE connection is going to take a while.
There was a month and a bit of images missing (thanks to iOS and its wonderful OS not playing nicely with Immich), however they have now uploaded and appear in the web interface.
Would anyone be able to suggest what I can do to see what is happening? At this point its going to be easier to just remove the app until we're back and I can do the 34k assets via local wifi. Happy to share any info needed
Cheers!

If this ticket can be closed you can use the /close
command, and re-open it later if needed. You can just disable auto syncing in the backup settings
It will have to re upload all the files to check for duplicates
Ah, okay, I thought it had a smarter way to check for duplicates
I'll leave it for 24hrs and see how it goes
yeah that is what we want to rework in the future to prevent this to happen
checking on the device instead of on the server
Ah cool, I did see something about that somewhere but thought asking here would be a more direct route. While I am here, still have issues when the iOS app hasn’t been opened in a bit with photo uploads. Has there been any progress on that or still bound by iOS
still have issues when the iOS app hasn’t been opened in a bit with photo uploadscan you elaborate?
