Low Framerate
im only getting 60-70 fps (theres no boss with crazy projectiles spawned) and i do have like 120 mods but my pc should easily run it and the game isnt even using 1% of my cpu

Welcome to #support-forum. Before someone helps you, please first consult the information in #TML Troubleshooting Guide and try all the suggestions that might fit your particular issue, especially in the linked FAQ page.
If the information in the pinned thread does not solve your issue, please post all log files by dragging and dropping them into this chat. In Steam right click on
tModLoader in the library, then hover over Manage and click on Browse local files. In the folder that appears find tModLoader-Logs and open that folder. Inside that folder are the logs files. Select them all except the Old folder and drag them into this chat. Are you using High FPS Support to go above 60 fps?

But without nitrate i get like 40 fps

i get more fps in cyberpunk than terraria
my game also randomly crashes when its like rebuilding when i change my mods but besides having to relaunch it seems fine
might as well drop all the logs
The only errors I see are Gravity Doesn't Flip Screen conflicting with high FPS support

It's something you can't really do much about, poorly coded mods lol
Only choice is to start disabling things

do u know which mods are poorly coded?
Based on what you are using, I'd disable any mods that deal with Lighting effects and see if that makes a difference
Also Infernum is the content mod that will tank your FPS the most

It's just not FPS friendly
You could always play the game windowed and reduce the window size

also my underground backgrounds are flickering this green mossy texture
Some type of lighting error I guess
Also the game is more CPU bound, it is single threaded and can only use 1 core

i should have pretty decent single core performance
How much FPS do you get with no mods enabled except high FPS support?

i disabled infernum and didnt see a performance change
i played it before and the only time i noticed it being coded poorly was when DOG was shooting 10 billion projectiles and my game was running in slow motion
i disabled both my lighting mods and my fps went up by like 10 :/

without nitrate i get the same fps as i do in skyrim with 1800 mods

Yeah
Try a smaller size world, IIRC the biggest cause of lag is due to Terraria processing so much world data every tick

I was following this thread to see how it would play out, cuz i'm also having FPS issues, but apparently it is out of our control 😦
I remember playing heavily modded playthroughs in the old 1.3 64bits tmodloader, and i would get constant 60fps in every scenario with a GTX 660, core i5,12gb RAM. Now in 1.4 i can't get stable FPS with RTX 3080, Core i7, 32GB. 💀
Crazy how Terraria mods evolved...
But yeah, it is probably Infernum. I messed up with every single one of the 84 mods i'm using. And the one that alleviated the framerate was Infernum when turned off.

ima just turn off my 2 lighting mods and suffer with the 70-90 fps and probably like 50 fps boss fights
