duplicate detection also scans and signals thumbnails as duplicate

Hello, new here and first time user of immich (v1.122.2). I'm running mine via docker compose on a raspi5-4gb. Folder setup: upload location: /mnt/thumbdrive/photos external path: /mnt/thumbdrive/photos It took me a while for immich to find its way to my external thumbdrive. A forum post told me to link EXTERNAL_PATH to :usr/src/app/external and that finally solved it with the docker compose settings above. Now I'm running through the jobs one by one. I've run smart search and ran duplicate detection afterwards. When going through the duplicates, it also signals thumbnails, generated by immich, as duplicates for me to 'delete'. I am not surprised by this because the pictures in the 'photos' folder and the files in the 'thumbs' folder are part of the same external path, namely: /mnt/thumbdrive/photos. I believe it is normal immich behavior to put the thumbs in the same folder as the pictures. Is this a consequence of my setup? yes/no/not possible to tell based on this information Is it possible to exclude the thumbnails folder from the duplicate selection process? yes/no/not possible to tell based on this information

Yes, this is because of your setup, and you shouldn't set it up like you have upload location and the external path should be completely separate

Roger! Thx. Is it advised to clean sweep it all or can I just migrate the upload folder?
