Web UI Uploads
I noticed that when using the web UI to upload items, the duplicates do not automatically disappear like they use to. Is there an option im not seeing somewhere to make this disappear like the successfully completed ones and only keep the ones that are errors? This is really annoying.

If this ticket can be closed you can use the /close
command, and re-open it later if needed.I have no idea what you're talking about, could you post any form of screenshot or such of this non-disappearing error?
So this is what I am talking about...When I upload something that is already in Immich, the duplicates message does not automatically disappear like in the older versions. You now have to press the circle with the slash through it to clear them.

There is no such setting for now, but are you encountering duplicates that often that this is an issue?
It's not necessarily me, it's other users as well. They do "phone backups" by copying to their computer into a folder then some of them take the entire folder and upload everything again. I don't know why but i'm not going to try to convince them otherwise. lol
Just wait for it to finish and click it away.. it's literally 1 mouse click
i know, i told them that too, but they don't like it.....lol. they keep complaining to me that it doesn't just disappear like it used to and only show errors like ones that don't upload.
I personally use Immich-Go when doing a large upload but my users only know how to use the webui and are not tech savy enough to use Immich-Go
I don’t think this is something we’ll be changing. The issue with auto removing is that people used to miss it and get annoyed that the file wasn’t uploaded
This is only referring to duplicates that get uploaded. If it is a duplicate then how is it not uploaded already and how would this annoy people? How are people not seeing that a duplicate is already on the server? The errors, the ones that fail to upload are ok to keep but why keep the duplicates up there? The duplicates are just like saying that they got uploaded. Why not just keep all the successful ones there as well if you don't want the duplicates to disappear? Why not just have the web ui upload bar stay there until everything is finished and then have the user just clear the whole thing at once so they can see everything?
I think only the ones that show an error like ones that fail to upload should stay in this upload bar in the webui and nothing else. Then it also makes it easier to find the ones that actually fail. Since this has changed, when I have hit the clear button, the failed ones disappear as well and I don't know which ones actually failed or are just duplicates without scrolling through all the duplicates that get detected. Duplicates should count as successful uploads and automatically disappear from this upload bar and only keep the failed ones in here.
You can fork immich and make it behave exactly how you like, this is the beauty of open source software. Otherwise I don’t see the point of further discussion here
This has to be the worst discord support channel ever.
Actually our support crew folks are killer & I think we have one of the best foss-software support channels here. This just happens to be a difference of opinion that's not going your way
The box stays on if there is error so that the user understand which files are duplicated or any upload has error.
Regardless, we are doing our best to help you. It is not a nice attitude you have there
