Importing Pictures from Existing Immich Filesystem
I recently had to reinstall immich, as I had a root drive fail on my server some time ago, but thankfully I had immich's storage on a different disk. I installed linux on a new drive, mounted the drive that Immich was using for storage, and reinstalled Immich in docker, pointing to the same mount point it was using previously. As a result, immich is working, I can see the pictures in the filesystem, and Immich can even see that amount of capacity used out of it's total allocated; However, I cannot actually see the photos in Immich. I was wondering if there was a way to have Immich 'Scan' the filesystem for those pictures? I also wonder if it is not an issue of Immich not seeing the pictures, but instead that they were assigned to a user in my old Immich install and won't be visible on the new install as it is technically a different user? Not sure.
Any help is appreciated

If this ticket can be closed you can use the /close
command, and re-open it later if needed. If it helps, my original install was Debian on bare metal, Immich installed via docker compose, Immich's storage on an LVM disk on a separate physical drive from the OS (mounted as /mnt/photos). After that server's root drive died, I installed Debian as a VM in Proxmox, passed the volume group from proxmox into the VM, mounted it again to /mnt/photos/, and deployed immich again via docker compose. Immich is working correctly, writing to the correct place, I just cannot see pictures or videos from the old installation
To transfer an existing Immich installation you also have to move the database
If you don't have the database anymore, you'll need to give the new install an empty UPLOAD_LOCATION and then reupload everything with the CLI
looks like i'm going to have to do the second one. thanks for the help!
