issues with Immich folder album creator
Hello all, i'm trying to integrate into my docker compose Immich this extension of immich because actually i have thousands of photo that actually are already organized in folders (in an external volumes) that is corrected read by immich.
The problem is that follow the procedure is not easy like it seems, i tried it several times but the container of the extension seems not working at all, probably there is something that i'm missing in the knowledge of it
Thank you so much in advance for the help

yes, i was just doing it
Are you running this on your NAS device?
yes, a terramaster F2-424
Alright, just checking that the database is not mounted over the network. 😛
The folders look OK to me, what exactly is not working?
Did you add the external library to a user in the GUI?
See https://immich.app/docs/guides/external-library/
Yes, actually all the photos in Foto-Nas are correctly seen by immich
but the "sidecar" (or extension) is not creating any albums at all
little tip, for now i'm just modifying my yaml file already installed in the docker, do you think can be mandatory rebuild it from the scratch with the edits?🤔

Ah you wanted albums to be created from folders?
I don't think external libraries offer that functionality
You could enable folder view perhaps?
yes, basically i've discovered there is this extensione that permit it https://github.com/Salvoxia/immich-folder-album-creator?tab=readme-ov-file#choosing-the-correct-root_path
Yep, already did it and works, i can see all the folders but cannot be organized in albums
Neat. I can't help with that though, it's not our script.
ok, thank you for the help, i must close the post or i can wait someone can help with that?
You can leave it open for others to comment 🙂
@bo0tzz can you help me with this?
There’s no need to tag people
We mentioned this isn’t an immich official project as well
No I cannot
