Using TrueNAS Dataset as external Library in Immich
Hi, unfortunately i can't seem to get my TrueNAS Dataset to work as an external library.
I have set up Immich on my TrueNAS and i (think) gave the correct permissions on the Dataset ACL; RWX with user/group "apps" 568.
I have also added the additional volume in the setup of Immich and added the path to the Immich GUI which validates without issues. Scanning doesn't really tell me much - it starts and then doesnt give any feedback at all but no photos are appearing.
There is only 1 Folder on that Dataset with a couple of photos so i should not take long at all to index but i have tried for a couple days now.
What am i doing wrong/missing?

In order to be able to effectively help you, we need you to provide clear information to show what the problem is. The exact details needed vary per case, but here is a list of things to consider:
- Your docker-compose.yml and .env files.
- Logs from all the containers and their status (see above).
- All the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far.

I don't have an exact same setup, but I am also using TrueNAS as a backing storage.
For me though, I am not using it as an external library but for my main media storage.
TrueNAS shared as SMB share, with a designated user/group in the ACL (not linux perms/nfs perms)
Then on my Linux VM I have the share mounted as CIFS share with the same user and password that I created locally on TrueNAS.
From there I passed that path as the VM path on the docker compose yaml.
Again, I know it's not the same, but I don't quite get the reasoning behind everyone using external libraries yet. lol
When I was done getting the main storage for Immich setup in TrueNAS, then I used their Bulk upload tool from CLI to upload my entire store of photos/videos.
I can see the files but they just wont scan in the external library.
Have you checked the logs for immich? Usually it'll tell you what's going on.
For Docker, this is what i'm running to get them
sudo docker logs -f immich_server
