Purposefully-kept duplicates don't clear from Duplicates
Thank you for this amazing tool and for providing support for it, it's much appreciated.
I am going through my (substantial) count of duplicates. Sometimes I want to keep more than one picture for a duplicate set, which I handily do with "Select keep all" and then "Keep all". Works great, moves on to the next one.
Unfortunately, if I reload the page (https://immich.example.com/utilities/duplicates), it re-presents me with dupliates I've already told Immich to keep and I have to do "Keep all" on them again. Is something broken in how its flagging these duplicates? Or is this working as designed?
Thanks!

Do you want them both visible or not? Because "Stack" will keep all and just show 1 with a little stack icon so you can see there are more behind it
I must be doing something wrong. If I select all of them for "Keep All", "Stack" is no longer available. If I do click "Stack", it's not actually making a stack and it still shows if I refresh the Duplicates utility.
The API call looks okay and there are no obvious errors, but the images definitely aren't getting stacked or resolved in Duplicates. =\
It sounds a lot like what this user is seeing: https://github.com/immich-app/immich/issues/15868
it USED to work fine, this is relatively recent behavior
"Must be doing something wrong" it can also just be something wrong with immich 😛 we'll investigate
I really need a test instance for this kind of shenanigans
thank you!
Maybe around the time of the migration to Kysely?
I have the same issue. Got a fix?
Having the same issue, however mine arent like a burst photo. i can understand why it would see them and think they are, one may have a smile vs tongue sticking out. i tell it keep but they keep popping back up in the queue asking me to rid of one when the page is reloaded.
Having the same issue☹️
same issue here.
The issue is supposedly fixed in https://github.com/immich-app/immich/pull/16380 , but based on the description of the PR I think it will only solve duplicates that you stack, not ones where you say "Keep all". I'll wait for the next release of Immich that includes the PR then test again.
you were right, "keep all" still doesn't resolve duplicates after refreshing
oh, do they come back on a re-run? i'm just glad i can dismiss them on a single run for now. haven't gotten through my entire duplicate stack to run the job again.
rerunning the job also didn't solve it
+1 to this issue, i think the bug thread was mistakenly marked as complete due to the stacking issue, but keep all still exists, or even with more than 2 keeps out of 3 for example
+1 to this issue - running the duplicate checker on my end and choosing to keep duplicates does not resolve said duplicates.
Same issue here and I haven't been using the stack feature. It makes it harder to know what I've already decided to keep and also adds more work overall.
issue still persitant in v1.30.1. I think a new bug report needs to be opened the old one got closed and dont think anyones looking at it now.
but it isn't considered a bug if you are using keep all. that is how is currently designed.
it was a bug for stack, and apparently it got resolved.
if you'd like a different behavior, you should open a feature request
I don't think it's works as intended though, more like works as unfortunately how it is 😛
no it is, when you click keep all, why does it get flagged again by the utility , it should be removed from the duplication utility tool when you decide to keep all
this was not an issue in previous versions, it came after an update. so now when i add new pictures, i have to go thoruhg 50+ duplicates and click keep all just to get to the new pictures ????.....
I'm pretty sure this was a bug and there was a PR for either this or the broken Stack All button.
I believe that one was for just stacked images.
