Game Crash on Startup - Plugin Failed to Load because Module could not be found...
Hello -- I am baffled as to why this modloader is not working. I have a relative fresh Satisfactory instal. After installing SMM I downloaded mods that were compatible and when trying to launch I get an error that a "module... could not be found. Please ensure the plugin in properly installed..."
I checked the game folder and can confirm that the mods are installed in the correct location:
D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Satisfactory\FactoryGame\Mods
If I "Turn Mods Off" in SMM the game loads just fine. I just cannot seem to instal any mods - as I have tried a few different ones, each giving me the same message but with different module names. I would really appreciate any advice as I have modded many games without running in to this type of issue.
I have also verified the game files.
Thanks so much.

OMG it finally worked. So after uninstalling the game for the second time - there are still a heap of files left over in the Satisfactory folder under steamapps/common/Satisfactory - some dating back to 2023 - so i deleted this whole folder, reinstalled the game and the mods and the game ran without any issues.
Really appreciate this forum with their assistance. @jess I hope you have the same success....

We need more information to help you. Before launching the game again, open the Mod Manager and use the "Generate debug info" option, then send the zip file produced here in this channel.
If you need to access older log files, see https://docs.ficsit.app/satisfactory-modding/latest/faq.html#Files_Logs
Ok - I have attached the debug information - I hope this helps. Thank you.

I have clicked "check for updates" and checked the versions - they are all up to date.
oh - I manually updated the mod and now get this error - but Steam updated Satisfactory yesterday. I am not sure how I caan have the wrong version?
Because Community Road Network (CommunityRoadNetwork) "1.0.5" depends on Satisfactory (FactoryGame) ">=365306" and Satisfactory CL273254 is installed, Community Road Network (CommunityRoadNetwork) "1.0.5" depends on Satisfactory (FactoryGame) ">=383729". So, because Satisfactory CL273254 is installed, version solving failed.
Make sure you updated the game before launching SMM. If your game is up to date, you have both U8 and 1.0 installed in the same folder at once, and SMM is detecting the U8 version.
To fix this, uninstall the game, delete the game install dir if it still exists (this is NOT the AppData folder, but the location where you installed the game), then reinstall the game, and reopen SMM.
If reinstalling the game takes too long for you, a quicker fix is to delete the
<game install dir>\Engine\Binaries\Win64\FactoryGame-Win64-Shipping.version
file, though this is not meant to be a permanent solution, as having the game installed twice in the same directory can cause issues later.

triggered by @KolhammerCL273254 is v0.8.3.3, which is over a year old ― looks like you perhaps downgraded your install of Satisfactory at some point in the past (which is very not supported)? Either way, SMM is only detecting the one installation at least. If you can't get Steam to update it, delete the Satisfactory install through Steam (you won't lose your saves) and re-download it.
Ok thank you. That is really surprising as I have all my games on auto update and steam says it updated yesterday. Very strange. I will uninstal and start afresh. Thank you for alerting me to this.
Just unistalled and reinstalled the game and have exactly the same issue

i have been having the same, or at least a remarkably similar issue, its why i just joined. I've been running a version of the game freshly installed about two days ago, and only had this problem pop up today. SMM crashing as (im afk and cant check the exact message rn) iirc there was an issue with the selected profile, while if i try running the game itself I encounter an issue with a specific module being unable to be found. i have tried manually deleting the presumed problem mod, only to get a new message with the same information about a different mod. I did this three times before concluding it was unlikely to be a problem with the mods themselves. I only began having this problem yesterday; my game was running and SMM was working smoothly until i restarted my computer today. no new computer updates occurred between these events. I'll try to get my debug log as soon as I can as suggested above so hopefully we can get to the bottom of this

trying to install mods on a dedicated server (from the steam tool thing) and getting this too

It looks like you have not yet generated the debug info file!
Please do as the mod manager requested. Click the "Generate debug info" button and send the zip file in #help-using-mods otherwise we will not be able to help you!
