mega/super chainsaw freezes the game
I like to use mods like mega chainsaw or super chainsaw to quickly clear areas and it works great, until it doesnjt work 😐
From time to time the game freezes during the clearing phase and i got plenty of inventory space, in my last playthrough i used superchainsaw and had major issues with the swamp i couldnt clear the northeast part at all.
New playthrough(and new computer so clean install of everything) and i loaded in mega chainsaw, started in the green area to the south and cleaned out a large portion of southeast but now i went slightly to the northwest of spawn point and it froze.
Anyone got a clue why?

Perhaps should mention, windows 11 up to date, 64gb ram, 9070xt oc, 9800x3d, windows runs of an m.2 device and the game on another m.2, dont have issues with programs crashing or bluescreens, the game runs in a 1920x1080 window on a 1440p resolution, like to have a movie playing on the left part of the screen while playing and the freeze happens at the same time on both mods.

This is a known issue, and is an inherent consequence of clearing massive areas of foliage. It takes a while to process that much at once. Use the mod settings (the
/megachainsaw [radius] chat command) to lower the radius it clears to prevent it from freezing your game. You'll need to experiment with the values to find something that works for you.
["like to have a movie playing on the left part of the screen while playing" ― this will undoubtedly make the issue more pronounced as well]Its not caused by alot of foliage at least not exclusively, some areas with a lot of foliage can clear just fine while areas with much less foliage can freeze the game, a radius of 20000 or 5000 makes no difference, there is something else or something more coming into play.
A radius of 2000 seems to work, perhaps underground cavern interfere to much with larger radiuses.
I'm experiencing this issue as well, also in the swamp in the north east corner. I've reduced my radius to 7500 and am still crashing while I've cleared half the map at 20000 radius with no issues up to this point. there definitely seems to be something specifically about the north east corner of the swamp, there is much more leaf only foliage there for sure, it could maybe be an overflow to do with the number of leaves entering the inventory all at once? I'll try reducing to 5000 then 2500 and see if I can clear the zone that way and then boost back up to 20000 to keep moving north.
even down to 2000 radius I'm crashing I think there's something specific in that corner of the swamp, probably underground, that the megachainsaw interacts with that simply shouldn't be destroyed for unknown reasons? I'll take a screen shot of the map with the location marked and ping the mod dev cuz this may be of interest to him. although it may be something in the base game that simply can't be accounted for by the mod. I don't know the game that intimately.
reducing the radius to 1000 was neccessary to prevent the crash. I think the crash is being caused by an individual object within 20m of this location.
I'll keep clearing the swamp with different radiuses and see if there are any other crash locations in the swamp

nevermind, the entire nearby area is having similar issues. might be due to the individual number of foilage objects not the amount of grass added to inventory or an individual object. there are tons of the tiny water grasses in the area, the ones so small they're hard to even target with the reticle. they may be ballooning the number of objects cut by the chainsaw in one go by a ludicrous amount without it being obvious by the volume of grass items added to inventory or the visible objects obviously on screen.
now randomly it just successfully cleared a massive 20000 radius including the entire area that was giving me problems. this issue seems to be arbitrary and not consistently repeatable. disregard my rambling
