--album option for external libraries
The immich CLI "Immich upload.." has the --album option. This option creates an album for every folder in the uploaded assets. I'm looking for a similar "--album option" when sanning external librays. Is that possible or is it in the development roadmap?

Please paste files and logs with proper code formatting, and especially avoid blurry screenshots.
Without the right information we can't work out what the problem is. Help us help you ;)
If this ticket can be closed you can use the /close
command, and re-open it later if needed. There is no such option and not in development as far as I'm aware
Maybe @etnoy has some thoughts to share, but I think this is not likely to be priority 👀
There are third party community tools for it, but you run those at your own risk of borking something up
Ok Mraedis. What a bummer.. (wie schade..) 🙂
This is a question we get sometimes and on the contrary I think this is best left to third-party tools. If we create this feature it would only fit a small subset of users and there will have to be extensive modifications to fit every users file structure. Do use the third party tools for this
ok - could you (etnoy) or somebody else link 1 or 2 of the most promising third party tools? I had one in mind about 9 month ago but then found the --album option in the Immich CLI. This works exactly how I want it, but the photos from the external directory are copied to the server (what I don't like). Scanning external libraries would just copy the thumbnails/sidecars to the server, correct?
