Synology - RAM + Immich
I just received my Synology DS224+ with 2gb of ram.
When I start the upload from my iphone to Immich (around 5k photos), the container sometimes crashes.
Could this be because of the little RAM I have in my system? Would this issue be gone when I upgrade to lets say 8 or 16gb of RAM?

what is a good amount of RAM for like 1tb of photos and videos?
The 1tb bit doesn't matter much. You're running a J4125?
Celeron J4125 yes
i was in the same situation as you with a DS923+, and moved the immich instance over to a mini PC (16 GB DDR4) pointing at the NAS storage. lightning fast now
Yeah, so it officially only runs 8gb ram. I'm running 18gb ram on my ds423+
Adding the most ram possible will make the nas experience the smoothest
For immich, it's suggested to have at least 4gb ram, upto 8. With machine learning using hardware acceleration I use upto 16gb, and it's fast. I also upgraded the ML model to a bigger more accurate one
That's why I actually chose the 423 above the 923. The Intel processor has GPU support which makes ML processing about 8x faster than on cpu alone
