Mobile app performance issues question
I recently switched from Google Photos to Immich and am having a great time! I brought over my archive from Google Photos, which in Immich takes up about 250 GB of space.
I have some performance issues with the Android app though that are somewhat annoying. Whenever I open the app I get a little spinny wheel down by the "photos" tab for > 20 seconds when on my local network and > 60 seconds when on 4G, and performance is pretty bad until that's done. Any new photos I've taken also aren't visible in the app until this has completed.
This is kind of a showstopper for me, if I'm talking with some friends and want to pull up a photo from a few months ago to show them, needing to wait 60 seconds for the app to become usable is an issue.
I wanted to ask if this performance is known/expected, if it would be useful for me to file issues on GitHub, or if there's any way I could help out by sharing data/logs/traces/etc from my Immich app?
Thanks for the great work on Immich!

The performance issues, especially when the assets are synced is currently known and work is being done in order to address them.
I have 154 remote albums, 23359 photos, and 1639 videos
I'm not sure what device albums are
The ones you have on your device
All the albums I see in the "albums" tab in the immich app were created on the server, and almost none of the photos in them are downloaded on my phone.
By device albums, I meant the albums you have on your phone. You can find them in your mobile gallery or in the immich app -> Library - On this device group
Ah, I see. Under "On this device" I see "Folders" and "Partners". "Partners" is empty. "Folders" has this structure:
upload
/upload
/3796bb72-...
/00 (89 folders)
/01 (77 folders)
/02 (81 folders)
(This continues through to folder "ff")
You can tap the On this device group, it should display you a list of albums
Oh! Haha whoops I misinterpreted the UI
There's one album named "camera" with 956 items
Right! Thank you! 😄 Hopefully, You should see improvements in the upcoming months.
Looking forward to it! And thanks for the awesome project!
