Something went wrong with ModUpdateNotifier

All I did was hit update in the SMM and I got this: 
failed to install mods: failed to install ModUpdateNotifier@2.3.5: could not extract ModUpdateNotifier: failed to read .smm mod hash file: open /run/user/1000/doc/ed86be11/SteamGames/steamapps/common/Satisfactory/FactoryGame/Mods/ModUpdateNotifier/.smm: no such file or directory

As far as I know Satisfactory did not update to 1.1 I think Steam's update process would be longer then... 🤔 Someone submitting while coding at the same time?

Solution:
Well... I closed the error dialog and it said no more updates. I turned off mods and it showed some extraction progress. I turned mods on again and barely any progress was shown. I closed SMM and relaunced it, nothing extra was said. Launched game and no complaints. Guess all is dandy now.

It looks to me like SMM can't find the hash file to validate the update within the mod directory. Have you tried removing and reinstalling MUN?
