can't login

I'm having issues with immich, I can't login from my phone (iOS) on external network. I set it up via tailscale, it worked fine two weeks ago but now after trying to login it doesn't work (I get an error "server not reachable"). I tried updating to the new immich version (it's setup via docker on my windows pc) I pulled the new version, it doubled in size so I'm guessing it updated, but it still doesn't work. When I visit "http://[::1]:2283/auth/login" (on the server pc) it works, I see the immich login page. What's the URL you're using on your phone? Does it work in your phone's browser and just not in the app?

so in tailscale I named my server (pc immich is running on) "home-server", so on my phone I'm using this URL "http://home-server:2283" I also tried the public IP from tailscale. It doesn't work in the browser. What's weird is that it worked 2 weeks ago, and today it doesn't work anymore. Tailscale is on and working on my phone and pc

I just realised that immich_server in the docker is stuck in a restarting loop, I changed the DB password cause I put special characters the first time I set it up, not sure if that's connected in any way

Have you actually changed the DB password? Or have you just changed the env variable?

ok it looks like it stopped restarting it works locally (even on my phone) "http://[IP]:2283" but it doesn't work when I try connecting on another network (via tailscale)

Are you sure you're using the correct address? And tailscale is enabled etc? And you haven't changed anything about your container setup?

I think so I'm trying the pc name and ip, with and without the port number. One of those combinations has to work I only pulled the new immich version in docker

You 100% need the port You said that earlier too and then you mentioned you also changed the DB password :P

I started it the same way like the first time, also last time (two weeks ago when it worked) I logged into it on another network with the pc name (from tailscale) and the port and it worked yes and that's all I did, those two things

To be perfectly clear if it works in your local network and the exact same app version doesn't work via tailscale that cannot be an Immich issue I'd try a different device than your phone and check if tailscale works there

it's not an immich issue anymore, it works locally. I'm just trying to get it work on external networks I'll try it
