Duplicate Detection seems buggy?
I set the Duplicate Detection Maximum distance to the minimum .001
I have a few thousand pics on my device in various folders that I configured to backup as albums.
Somehow almost all of them get marked as duplicates and never get uploaded. Only 155 out 6248 got uploaded.
Over 6 thousand are duplicates? Duplicates of what? Of the 155 that are already on the server?

If this ticket can be closed you can use the /close
command, and re-open it later if needed. The 6248 means that 6,248 local assets have been marked as already backed up to server
It has no connection to the 155
Do you have 6k files on phone but only 155 on immich web you mean?
Yes
How are you connected to immich server in the app? Please show a screenshot of the backup settings page as well

There are only 155 assets selected
this is right after I clear the dups detected count in Settings>Advanced

Did you upload any images to immich before/without the mobile app..?
Yes, but without the setting to make them albums. So I then deleted it all, changed the setting to make them albums and re-uploaded
You didn't need to delete them all to do that
the old photos are still in the trash I bet
I emptied the trash
Could be delay in syncing and flushing from disk. Im sure thats related to the cause here
Guess I could just delete the server and build a new one? I'm hosting on pikapods so this would be super easy
Could also make a new user to test
What would be a better option?
If you could go back in time, all you had to do was toggle the "create albums" option and sync
This one? I thought I did try that

Did you then press the sync button? It works ive done it 🙂
You mean the Start Backup button?
Once you enable albums, go into the backup settings gear and click Sync albums
Thank you for your help, Zeus. You responded so damn quickly. It was literally live tech support.
