tModLoader runs terribly on new M4 MBA

tModLoader is running awfully slow (low framerates, literal slowdown - most basic you can get) on my M4 13" MacBook Air (base mdoel). I think this is due to the fact that gamemode doesn't get enabled because macOS doesn't recognise tModLoader as a game. I tried some funky terminal commands but to no avail. base terraria runs fine, especially when "Game Mode" gets enabled, which is when macOS detects a game being played in full screen (does not recognise tMod as stated). running very few mods (just Overhaul and Calamity) - this performance is comparable to my last PC, in which I could only run 1.4.4 tMod in windowed, but I can't even do that here as nothing changes, and the way fullscreen optimisations work on mac is weird (mac's fullscreen directly conflicts with Terraria's window settings)

Welcome to #support-forum. Before someone helps you, please first consult the information in #TML Troubleshooting Guide and try all the suggestions that might fit your particular issue, especially in the linked FAQ page. If the information in the pinned thread does not solve your issue, please post all log files by dragging and dropping them into this chat. In Steam right click on tModLoader in the library, then hover over Manage and click on Browse local files. In the folder that appears find tModLoader-Logs and open that folder. Inside that folder are the logs files. Select them all except the Old folder and drag them into this chat.
