I just received my corne yesterday and built it. Unfortunately, when I turned it on, the switch broke nob thing broke off. The moving plastic piece. Is it possible to fix this?

I'm sorry to hear that the power switch broke on your Corne! While the plastic "nob" itself isn't easily reattached, the switch mechanism underneath is likely still functional. You can still turn the keyboard on and off by carefully using a small, flat object (like a flat head screwdriver) to move the switch mechanism. If you'd like to explore replacing the switch, it would require desoldering the broken one and soldering on a new one. This is a more advanced fix. Let me know if you'd like more information on how to operate the switch without the plastic piece or if you're interested in attempting a replacement. What are the parts and directions for the advanced fix?

For the advanced fix of replacing the power switch on your Corne Wireless, you would need a replacement power switch and soldering tools. The power switch is a small surface-mount component. Replacing it requires careful desoldering of the old switch and soldering of the new one. This can be tricky due to the size of the component and the pads on the PCB. Unfortunately, we don't have a specific guide in our documentation for replacing the power switch itself, as it's a more complex repair. If you're comfortable with surface-mount soldering, you would need to: 1. Obtain a compatible replacement power switch. 2. Carefully desolder the broken switch from the PCB. 3. Clean the solder pads on the PCB. 4. Carefully align and solder the new power switch onto the pads. If you're not experienced with surface-mount soldering, attempting this fix could potentially damage the PCB. For further assistance or to discuss this more, feel free to reply to this message.

I don't have the specific part number for the power switch readily available in my documentation. For questions about specific component part numbers for repairs, please reach out to us via email at hello@typeractive.xyz. They should be able to provide you with that information.
