Rescan the NFS mounted library after a database failure

I have all of my library still mounted correctly, but I inadvertently lost the database during a CNPG operator upgrade (which was my fault). Is there anyway I can rescan the primary library without having to upload my media again? Setting external library to the same path also threw and error since it's the generic upload path. I'm on kubernetes 1.32 and immich version 1.32.1

@urzu if you lose connection you have to compose down and up again, docker does not re-attach disconnects

If you want to start fresh and import the library as an external library you need to make sure it's a different path to the default upload location

So if i change the NFS library mount location and re import it, does it move the data around? Apologies I'm not sure how to keep the same mount path and also a secondary mount to import the data back into the main library without duplicating it. Or am I creating a new main library NFS PVC and essentially migrating the data from the old PVC.

External libraries don't move the data at all

Since you lost the database you'll have to start anew with an empty PVC. Then either add the old one as an external library, or upload it with the CLI

You have two options, re-import everything into a new "internal" library, basically upload everything again using the CLI, or you can just use the old upload folder as an external library which Immich will scan

I'd probably recommend just re-importing everything with the CLI so you maintain a single library

FYI there are DB backups stored at UPLOAD_LOCATION/backups automatically, if you were using a standard setup

I did have a backup. I'll update if that works. But more than likely a clean upload is the best way.

I'm going to start fresh and import again. Its the cleanest way. Thanks again for all the help.
