Admin user does not have full permissions

When I upload images to my immich instance, half the time it does not generate a thumbnail. So I set up a script that scans my library for images without thumbnails and submits a new regenerate-thumbnail job for those. Now this works fine for my images but now my brother started uploading his images and the api key of my admin account gets a status code 400 (Not found or no asset.update access) when trying to run the job on images I don't own. How can I give my admin account full access to all content on my server without taking it away from my brother?

The admin doesn't get any special permissions about other users' assets

Also, this really shouldn't be necessary, should probably try and find the root cause instead
