Bizarre mod version problems

I have no idea why, but it is as if my and my friend's mod versions don't want to agree with eachother? Shortly speaking, yesterday when we tried to play, his Stars Above mod was outdated (2.1.6) and mine was up-to-date (2.1.7). He struggled to update, but, quote, after "spamming the update button" it worked. Next day. SUDDENLY my Stars Above is downgraded to 2.1.6 and I can't up-grade it?? I cannot update it via the mod browser, reinstalling doesn't help, joining his server takes ages, no error pops up when I try to update it. I also tried to spam the update button for like 5 minutes with an autoclicker, but that didn't help either. For some reason Stars Above had just downgraded for me overnight and is just not going back.

Welcome to #support-forum. Before someone helps you, please first consult the information in #TML Troubleshooting Guide and try all the suggestions that might fit your particular issue, especially in the linked FAQ page. If the information in the pinned thread does not solve your issue, please post all log files by dragging and dropping them into this chat. In Steam right click on tModLoader in the library, then hover over Manage and click on Browse local files. In the folder that appears find tModLoader-Logs and open that folder. Inside that folder are the logs files. Select them all except the Old folder and drag them into this chat. If you need a visual guide to this process watch this: https://github.com/tModLoader/tModLoader/assets/4522492/3f4efa43-753f-4733-b630-ba85e711340c

When I click update, it does the download window for a moment (which shows 0 bytes out of 0 bytes) and then instantly goes away in like a second

Are you using a modpack?

Using multiple mods, yes Checked online, saw something about "mods not liking to update when other are on" so I also tried to update with all the mods turned off, didn't work either The other big mod is Calamity, the rest are QoL

Try this

Tag: removelocalmods (Owner: rijam#0000) Check the Manage Mods menu. If there are mods with a pink/magenta background and no Steam icon, delete those mods. What it means is you have a local install of the mod which is overriding the likely more up-to-date Steam version. Deleting the local version will let you use the Steam version. To delete the mod you can either: * With the mod disabled, click the trash can icon to delete the mod in the Manage Mods menu. * OR go to Documents\My Games\Terraria\tModLoader\Mods and delete the tmod files there.

Is it normal that half the mods are missing?

No that's fine, those are only your local copies Are you subscribed to the rest on the workshop?

Quite certain, yes I checked Stars Above, and it automatically subscribes me whenever I install it from the mod browser So I am subscribed to that one

Try closing TML, and completely closing out of steam, then reopening steam and seeing if it tries to download any updates

I can also record what happens when I try to update, if that'd be of help? I closed steam completely before opening OBS

Try updating the mod in game and let it fail or do whatever, then post the logs in this chat

Sorry I didn't reply, got really distracted and then had to go to bed Latest version of TMOD? Quite certain, yeah Maybe the issue will get fixed on its own, then. Usually when something unexplainable happens I just wait a day or a week and it goes away -# My friend sorta urged me to make this topic
