Cartography Map mod Bug - Lines on map
@yeshjho Since the last update (1.1.0 of your mod), strange gray lines appear on the map and goes through the entire map (even the none explored part). Some disappear while another appear depending of the zoom. Is it only me ?

Hi! Thanks for reporting. This seems like a similar issue to this, being short on VRAM. Could you try using
r.streaming.poolSize 0
and let me know the result?GitHub
Textures not loading when using the mod · Issue #6 · yeshjho/Cart...
It somehow prevents textures from loading. Might because of another mod, idk, but when I dont use it everything works fine

Incompatible mods found!
Better Train Collision:
Please attempt to remove/disable these mods so that they no longer force the old SML to be used (this is why your mods don't load).
Nope
Better trying but my game start correctly dear bot
Ok... Screw it x). It may comes from other mods. I disable Better Train colision (but i don't think it comes from here) and Taj Graphical Overhaul (more cofident on this one)

triggered by @Timo1050Thank you for giving your time on your mods and sorry for the inconvenience @yeshjho
No need to apologize!
Glad the problem went away. I also tried reproducing the problem on my end with only Cartograph installed, but wasn't able to do so.
Thanks for the report anyways!
@yeshjho good morning I am having a bit of difficulty with the mod. I love it btw. When I enable it the map itself becomes fuzzy and the buildings are crystal clear. Is there something I need to do to fix this?

Yeah I will try in the morning
Iirc on higher settings of textures quality, the streaming pool is being limited to vram max (but also some pretty small number like 800 iirc). On low/medium it's even smaller like 400
Hey, so was it TajsGraph causing issues for you?
I haven't tested it with Cartograph in a while, but I might take a look if it's borking with it :feyxel:
@yeshjho that worked perfectly, Thank you!!
Oh so that's why they're experiencing this even though their vram isn't full, that makes sense. Thanks for letting me know!
Glad it worked!
so the fix is to increase the streaming pool size to unlimited with this command?
Yes. Thinking about it, I should look into it to see if there's anything I can do to make the map overlay texture not 'streaming' or exempt from the limit.
This kind of report is completely new in 1.1, I wonder if SF uses more streaming textures than in 1.0, or the engine upgrade is somehow responsible for this.
I know texture assets allow you to set what optimization category they're in to control if they get streamed, but idk about virtual textures
(I assume you are using a virtual texture, that name is the end of my wheelhouse)
This is the only option directly related to streaming, but it's already turned on. (The asset is Canvas Render Target)
Guess I'll have to profile VRAM usage now

the Texture Group and that checkbox is what I was aware of
@AngryBeaver might have an idea of where to look next
There should also be a code command to force an asset to load -now-. That way you're not waiting for the streaming systme to catch up. but it can cause hitches
I think the problem here is that Cartograph takes up the streaming pool to the point where vanilla textures are not being able to loaded properly (low res or completely not being loaded)
So I'm not sure if I can make vanilla textures to be force loaded
Yeah, brute forcing the streaming system like that usually have overal negative perf consequences
Indeed. I'll need to study in depth how UE handles textures, I guess.
But that's for tomorrow's me, time for bed 🛌

downgrade_duplicate
The Mod Manager is reporting an error because it's trying to modify an outdated copy of the game. This could be caused by one of two things:
1. One of the installs connected to the Profile you have selected is still running a previous version. To fix this, either uninstall it, update it, or switch to a different Mod Manager profile so that it isn't considered in the update process.
2. You have leftover files in your install directory from downgrading to play a previous version. To fix this, uninstall the game (verify files won't fix this!), delete the game install directory if it still exists (this is NOT the AppData folder, but the location where you installed the game), then reinstall the game, and reopen SMM.

Just out of curiosity is anyone else having graphics issues? The water looks like a swirl of lines and I have to literally have to be on or over landscape for it to render in. I have tried adjusting graphics settings to no avail.
