Jobs not starting?

Hi, pretty new to immich. I set it up using portainer and it worked great for a week or two. After that it failed to generate thumbnails for any new pics auto uploaded from the android app. For a few days I was able to manually start a thumbnail job and it ran & succeeded, but now jobs just sit there in waiting state, with 0 active jobs. This is the case for thumbnails, metadata & faces, but If I start a rescan exteral libraries job it runs immediately (I don't have any external libraries configured tho).
I am the only user, and at the moment I only have the android app installed and set to automatically upload new photo's and videos I take. Seems to work and I can see the thumbnails in the mobile app, just not in the web interface on my pc. Accessing it through a reverse proxy & https.
I have restarted my stack but it didnt help, I have checked logs but see no errors. Now I am stuck and I am hoping you can help
