Need help playing with a controller with menu mods

I've been trying to play with an Xbox controller but noticed that specifically tqo menu mods make it a bit hard to do so as I cannot select with them. Specifically the Dialogue Panel Rework mod by Cyrilly and the Better Crafting Interface mod by Jake (for the last one, I don't know if maybe the mod Recipe Browser by javidpack would either fix this or it too support controller gameplay)

gamepad support is pretty much unknown still. I don't think modders know how to implement it, and there is probably lots of work needed to make it happen on tmodloaders side.

That's sad to hear, is there any work being done towards that direction or are there bigger priorities for now?

Had the same issue and found this. It's a bit sad that there is not even plans for controller support.
The vanilla terraria has great controller support, it's just that every modded component seems to be uninteractable with the controller. Some of greatest offenders are stuff like accessories slots and npc dialogue options, where you can navigate through vanilla ones but not the modded ones.
I've been playing on a tablet via stream with Apollo/Artemis, so for now I am able to use a pen as a mouse for those trick interactions, but otherwise the experience is great.
IMHO, this should be fixed on the tmodloader side, as providing ui elements with built-in controller support would make easier for modders and widespread adoption possible

Running into the same issue with Magic Storage. I’m actually looking at the code right now to see what needs to be done, but this mod may be a bit complicated for a terraria modding newbie.
