I’m running Immich on an old Mac Mini with Ubuntu Server and Docker and the media all stored on an external HDD. This was mostly a test to see if I could set it up, and it worked, but the hardware is a barrier to smooth functioning. So I’ve bought a UGREEN NAS to run it from here on.
My goal is to:
Is there a guide out there somewhere to help me through this?
I’ve been told the UGREEN NAS can run Docker natively, so I don’t need to install Ubuntu. Any idea if that’s correct, and if there could be any potential problems from using their OS?

My goal is to:
- Prepare the current system for the transfer.
- Move to the NAS as the main interface running at first with the external HDD as is.
- Slowly switch the database from the external HDD to the internal SSD
- Repurpose the external HDD as cold storage backup
