us-west-2 support?
Hello! I wanted to ask why Supabase decided to use us-west-1 over us-west-2? us-west-1 is a less reliable, less mature, and more expensive region than us-west-2. https://www.lastweekinaws.com/blog/us-west-1-the-flagship-aws-region-that-isnt/

For a flagship AWS region based in Northern California, us-west-1 gets way less use than you'd expect. Here's my best guess as to why.

I'm asking because I really don't want to setup in us-west-1. The next best pick would be us-east-2, but I don't want ot introduce additional distance latency if I don't have to.
You won't get that answer here unless a user happened to see a comment somewhere. Supabase does not monitor posts on the site regularly.
It is interesting they run edge functions there.
And you're not the first to ask...

Dang, thanks for letting me know. It's a common mistake to assume us-west-1 is the more "official" one than us-west-2
