Mistakenly Created my Immich inside of Docker Desktop... How do I switch to 'normal' docker?

The main reason I want to move over to regular docker is because... Docker Desktop seems to kind of suck or cause issues. For whatever reason the Docker Desktop App will randomly show allocation(s) of 0.00GB RAM/Container Memory, 000% CPU, and 0,00GB of Disk... This even affects my Zitadel that is also in Docker Desktop... It will work and report usage and limits fine with a full VM Reboot and for awhile then screw up after a few days... which isn't ideal of course.

I already have like 600GB of photos and videos backed up I would like to keep that and just move them over so I don't have to get all of them from Google Photos again.
My basic setup is:

Dell PowerEdge R720 SFF Server 2x 6 Core E5-2630 v2 2.6GHz/128GB/PERC H710P 1GB - Proxmox VE 8.4.0
VM OS: Debian (bookworm) 12.11.0-amd64
Docker Desktop: Version 4.41.2 (191736), Docker Engine V28.1.1

There is a Immich Migration thing, so basically just install Immich in a regular Docker and do the migration thingy, atleast as far as i know

I have enough space even if so; but any idea if the migration requires double the disk space to move the already uploaded items?

I guess you will need the double Space yea, maybe even 3 times the space for a moment

You can copy the upload location if you want but really you just need to move it to the new location, then backup and restore the db at the new location as well

Thank you both.

I got the DB backed up just by following the backup-and-restore.
Removed Docker-Desktop from their uninstall process and just reinstalled docker engine and compose through the repositories.

I had to run the restore commands with sudo; but, that's wasn't a big issue for me.

@Rammonon , I seem to have the same issue with Docker Desktop as what you describe. Did switching over to just using the Docker Engine fix this problem ?
Currently, I have to restart Docker Desktop multiple times a week, I'm hoping Docker Engine will fix that issue for me...
