External libraries and deleted files
Moving discussion to this place, so we can get everything in one place
So. I've been trying out the external libraries:
I had issues with images not being found. Possibly due to my naming & exclusions. See this post: https://discord.com/channels/979116623879368755/994044917355663450/1398228785098391605
So, I changed around in the folder structure, and updated my external libraries to point to this new folder structure.
The old setup was kinda wonky. I had a main folder "pictures". That folder contained all of my private photos, as well as a shared folder for images for me and my wife. The shared folder was named "Kasper & Rikke". Inside this shared folder was then a fodler containing my wifes old photos from her childhood. A folder called "Rikkes billeder".
I changed this so that the main folder "picture" now contained 3 folders. "Kaspers photos", "Rikkes photos" and "Shared photos". I then moved photos around to the right folders.
Now that everything was move around, the old paths in the external libraries no longer matched what was actually on the drives.
This changing around resulted in all of the images being moved to trash for the users assigned to these external libraries.
At the same time, the images were still available in the timeline views, and the new scans found the images.
The overview for how much external storage was assigned for the individual users was now a little wonky (https://discord.com/channels/979116623879368755/994044917355663450/1398342845173334056). So I thought I'd clean up the trash to make sure it wasn't reported wrongly.
Cleaning in the trash is where everything went wrong. Everything removed permanently from trash deleted the images, even though they were also shown in the timeline views. This because they were removed from the underlying storage.
Which I guess would mean it would have happened even if I didn't do anything actively. But first when the 30 day timer ran out
