Are you experiencing FPS drops, low FPS, or laggy singleplayer gameplay?
DirectX on Windows may not be working properly and might be causing these issues.
Try using OpenGL using the launch argument in Steam as shown here: https://gyazo.com/a572f60f32424ac1bdbdebb68ead5043

(Steam Instructions) Follow these steps to get a fresh install of your game files:
Terraria Instructions:
1) Delete the
Terraria folder in C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common. If you're on a non-Windows computer or have Steam installed elsewhere, type .findinstall in #botworld to get to the tModLoader folder, then just go back one folder to end up in the common folder mentioned earlier.
2) Uninstall, then reinstall Terraria in Steam.
tModLoader Instructions:
1) Delete the tModLoader folder in C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common. If you're on a non-Windows computer or have Steam installed elsewhere, type .findinstall in #botworld to get to this folder.
2) Uninstall, then reinstall tModLoader in Steam.
(Note: your player and world saves are stored in a completely separate folder than the ones mentioned above. If you delete any other folders, we are not responsible for you losing any of your saves.)unfortunately it doesn't work, is there anything else I can try?
open steam as an admin. Go to your steam app, right click and go to properties then combabilities and "run this program as an administrator"
try this if it still cant boot
No, unfortunately it doesn't work
I have also tried to set the compatibility mode with with windows
I have also tried to download different versions of the dotnet runtime, I have tried both the latest and the 6.0.0
tModLoader uses .NET 8
ok I will intsall that one
no it didn't work
does anyone have any other ideas to fix the game

A last resort is to launch the game manually in PowerShell.
1. Go to the tModLoader install directory. Hold shift and right click in the folder. Click "Open PowerShell window here".
2. Type
dotnet tModLoader.dll and press enter.
If the game did not launch, you likely have an issue with .NET; You can try installing the .NET 8 SDK from here https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/8.0. Select Windows x64 and run the installer. After you have installed the .NET 8 SDK, you will need to delete your dotnet folder in the tModLoader install directory. When I type the command, it says the folder is not found
* You misspelled a built-in dotnet command.
* You intended to execute a .NET program, but dotnet-tModLoader.dll does not exist.
* You intended to run a global tool, but a dotnet-prefixed executable with this name could not be found on the PATH.
this is what it says
Ok, I am unsure of what I did but it now works
for some reason, TYSM VERY MUCH
I am forever grateful
actually it only worked one time
bruh
