Request for Community Feedback on Google OAuth Account Selection Issue (#20702)
I need feedback on a GitHub issue: #20702. Immich doesn’t prompt for Google account selection during OAuth login (web & mobile) when multiple accounts are signed in, using the primary account instead. This causes "User does not exist and auto registering is disabled" if that account isn’t registered (AUTO REGISTER is false).
My Google OAuth config is correct (Redirect URIs: https://my-domain.com/auth/login for web, app.immich:///oauth-callback for mobile; Scopes: openid, profile, email). Google’s docs (link) say the prompt=select_account parameter, set by Immich, forces account selection. The maintainers closed the issue as "not planned," claiming it’s a provider config issue. I clarified this in a response but couldn’t reply immediately due to my child’s illness, leading to premature closure.
Why was this closed as "not planned"? Is this a prioritization strategy? It impacts users with multiple Google accounts. Any insights or similar experiences?
