Top shot
Hello, is it planned to support top shots uploaded via ente? It is not the case currently when my phone syncs, but when I imported my google photos data the topshots were included and ente was able to show them. Is it a bug?

(top shots are the small videos taken while taking a photo)
Ente already supports Live Photos if they’re a similar thing? They’re supported on my old Samsung and iPhone
Yes I forgot the name!
I can see the topshots on my phone ente apps, but on the web app they do not show for the images uploaded automatically via ente (sync)
Hm, I’m not sure, my photos display as live in the app and on the website
Are these photos uploaded via desktop or via the app?
Via the app with the automatic sync
The playback isn’t supported on web/desktop

Well I can see the live photos on desktop/web for photos uploaded via the google takeout archive, but not for the photos uploaded by the ente app when it is syncing
If this is for Android Top shot/ motion photo, then you are seeing this behavior because Google takeout splits the android top shot/ motion photo in two separate files. Our desktop importer tries to club them together and show it as single asset.
Web/desktop supports playing such assets where both image and video are separate.
While our mobile app also supports playing motion photo/top shot where both image and videos are part of same file.
I see, so it means that the top shot are uploaded with the app even if they are not shown in web/desktop? Is it planned to support it?
Yes, on mobile app, even if top shot is uploaded via web and web didn't detect it as top shot, you should be able to play it on mobile (just long press on the image).
And yes, we do plan to support playback of same on web/desktop. Please upvote/subscribe to above feature request for any update related to this request.
I see, thank you!
