my other vote is i cant decide because i love every indie rpg ive ever played/seen too much-
some of these are criminally underrated...
never played most of them so i cant really vote them

OH more honorable mentions I really found intruiging and liked learning the story of: Parasite Flower, End Roll (hidden gem bro), Blank Dream, Utaho no Tatari (purely for the fakeout glitch that paralyzed half the playerbase in fear), and Last Light (really sad)
fair, a lot of these are really underground and niche
gotta say as someone who played the entirety of mad father multiple times the jumpscares arent too scary they catch me off guard but its not really bad but even despite that it was really fun to just...play
so far, undertale has more memories and experience in my head, but deltarune is great
in stars and time & omori are both cool but
haven't played in stars and time, dont think i'd like the gameplay
have tried to play omori, the story is great but i also dont like the gameplay

undertale and omori got a bit boring because they didn’t have a lot of unique mechanics

to be fair the bullet hell gameplay in undertale carries it a lot

any indie rpg 3d or 2d can apply
deltarune is unique because of the tp system and bullet grazing, you can only progress certain battles by grazing a lot of bullets or defending(uses up a turn) making you need to think about healing or progressing the battle

they made the speed stat ACTUALLY MATTER
deltarune battles are so fun

like if youre speed is too slow the enemy can just keep attacking so you have to make sure to keep the speed stat up if it gets lowered

come to think of it I don't think I've ever played any rpg game, indie or not..
in omori it just feels like a chore to do battles than a game but idk maybe i just dont like that type of battle system

i like the strategizing i occasionally have to do but if you level up a lot or just fighting regular enemies it is kinda boring

also btw end roll is a lot like omori but less polished but a more devastating ending
not gonna spoil it here but its just...depressing
i love the story but it hurts
"your choices dont matter" = "its kill or be killed"
both get forced onto you, both can be disproven
toby fox is peak
it’s very clear from the start in deltarune that its not kill or be killed
