Corne Not Pairing to eachother

Hey guys, I've been banging my head against the wall for the past 3 hours and nothing is working. I recently got a new half with a new nice nano and reset both sides multiple times and then put the appropriate firmware on each and even reset them at the same time but they will not pair no matter what. My soldering job on this one was not great so wondering if there's something there but I really don't want to spend another $150

Got it — thanks for the details. 👍
When the two halves won’t connect, it’s almost always either a bonding issue or a hardware issue (bad solder joint on a row/column pin or the BLE pins). Let’s narrow it down: 1. Firmware check
- Make sure you flashed the left half firmware to the left PCB and the right half firmware to the right PCB from our Corne Firmware page. The halves won’t talk if both are lefts or both are rights. 2. Reset bonds
- Go through the steps here: Split Halves Won’t Connect. Clear the Bluetooth bonds on both halves — sometimes the left half is still trying to remember the old right half. 3. Hardware sanity check
- A weak solder joint on the nice!nano sockets can keep the radios from talking. Carefully inspect the pins related to communication. Check both the nice!nano side and PCB side for cold joints or bridges.
- If you’re not sure, try reheating each pin with your iron and adding a touch of fresh solder.
- You can also follow the Row/Column Troubleshooting guide if you suspect a specific section isn’t connected. 4. Test isolations
- Confirm that the left half works and types when connected to your computer — the right half will never connect to your computer directly, only over BLE to the left.
- If the left works fine on its own, we know the issue is just the inter-half connection. If after rebonding and checking solder joints you still can’t get them connected, it’s likely one of the radio pins on the new nano isn’t making good contact. That can usually be fixed with a solder touch-up. Want to try the bond reset + solder reflow steps first? That will rule out 95% of cases like this.
