Veinminer 1.3.2 not working for 1.21.8
Hey there! For a couple days now I've been trying to get the datapack to work on a realm, but without fail, it's marked in red, saying that it's "made for a newer version of Minecraft." I've tried looking around to see if there might be a fix, but so far have come up empty handed. I did see another inquiry earlier about 1.21.8, so if it ends up just being a matter of finding time or waiting to update, feel free to disregard! I was mostly curious if there was a known fix by now.

I’ve checked the format identifiers, and AFAIK It should work as it’s marked as forward compatible. However, I’m not very knowledgeable in the shenanigans of realms so I could imagine that they can’t read packs with yet undefined pack versions for some reason.
Ahh, that very well could be the case!
If you look into the forum you can see that we had multiple problems with realms in the past, so we can't really offer help
realms are sadly a bit buggy in terms of datapacks :/
What you can try is going into the zip file and chaning the "supported_version" tag to the one from 1.21.8 (81)
I'll give that a try, thank you!
Where would that be in the zip file? I'm not used to navigating these things, I'll admit.
if you open it, there is a file called pack.mcmeta
Okay, what should I open it with?
windows should have a zip opener inbuild, just double click it and see what happens
oh and the mcmeta is just a text file
Ahh, okay, I'll try that!
It wants me to specifically choose an app to open it with, would notepad work, or should I use something specific?
notepad is fine
It's wanting me to save it as a new .txt file it looks like, and for some reason it's not letting me go into the resource packs folder for minecraft, hm.
Does it still need to be a MCMETA file or is it okay with it being a text document?
the name must be exact
pack.mcmeta
otherwise minecraft can not read it
you can try editing the file outside of the zip and then move it into the zip again, overriding the oldAlright, I'll see about doing that!
So, now it's not showing up at all in the resource pack list. Is this how it's supposed to look?

try also pack_format to 81, its the one i meant before but miss remembered the name. And supported_format needs to values, so ig set it to [80,81]
Ahh, okay!
Would removing the plus sign in that description change anything? I've changed everything to how it should be, and it's now showing up in the resource packs, but it's still saying as it did before, made for a newer version of Minecraft.
the description is just a random string that is displayed, not parsed for versions. But saying it was made for newer versions should indicate your realm not actually running on 1.21.8? :Hmm:
Its definitely the correct number (81)

Also, the warning is usually just a warning that can be ignored, idk about realms but can you enable it non the less?
Weird, it absolutely says that it's running on 1.21.8, and I can try to enable it again, but when I did in the past while it showed up in the list, it wouldn't be accessible by commands or anything.
you may can try creating a world on your client with the datapack, checking if everything works and upload it to the realm? Is this possible?
I think it should be, I can try that!
Hmm, it doesn't seem to be working on a single player world, either, whether it's the original or the updated files.
Thats an unfortune... i can test it tomorrow again but i thought it was working good. Can you confirm the datapack version you use?
1.3.2, the most recent datapack release, yep!
