Power switch broke
My power switch broke. Does anyone have innovative solutions for this that dont involve tearing apart my keyboard again?

Sorry to hear your power switch broke 😕 Unfortunately, the switch is soldered to the PCB, so permanent fixes usually involve replacing it, which does mean some desoldering. That said, here are a couple of ideas people use to work around it without pulling everything apart:
- Leave the switch in the "on" position permanently and just manage power by plugging/unplugging the battery, or flash firmware that keeps it always active and rely on charging when needed.
- Unplug the JST battery connector when you’re not using the board. This acts like a manual power switch and avoids constant drain when traveling.
- Use a thin plastic shim (like a trimmed piece of plastic or tape) to wedge a broken switch into the “on” position if it doesn’t reliably stay there.
If you do want a permanent repair, resoldering a new switch is the only clean solution, but the above workarounds let you keep using the board in the meantime.
